Fueled by a vision, Robert Palmer (Bob) established Palmer Vineyards on a gravelly North Fork parcel in 1983. Leveraging his advertising experience, Bob became a tireless advocate for Long Island wines, traveling extensively to promote Palmer. His efforts garnered recognition, making Palmer one of the most visible and well-respected wineries in the region.
Today, the Massoud Family carries the torch, upholding Bob's unwavering commitment to quality. The winery's numerous accolades stand as a testament to his dedication, reflecting the simple yet profound motto: "My name is on every bottle."

Palmer Vineyards maintains one of the largest estates on Long Island, with 100 acres planted across two parcels. Their annual production ranges from 10,000 to 12,000 cases, encompassing red, white, rosé, and even sparkling wines.
Sustainable Practices:
Composting: Palmer utilizes a combination of natural and synthetic composts, tailored to address specific soil deficiencies. They are also experimenting with natural compost piles for faster nutrient delivery.
Disease & Pest Management:
Newer plantings like Albariño, Viognier, and Muscat leverage disease-resistant clones to minimize frost damage.
Clover provides ground cover and nitrogen fixation between the rows.
Copper sulfate sprays are used strategically before harvest, with a focus on foliage protection and minimal fruit contact. Environmentally friendly alternatives like Serenade and Stylet Oil are used closer to harvest.
Overall, Palmer strives for minimal intervention, constantly seeking ways to reduce or replace conventional sprays with organic or less harsh options.
