Sharing the vision of Sparkling Pointe's founders, Cynthia and Tom Rosicki, winemaker Gilles Martin – a native of France's Champagne region – is passionate about Long Island's unique terroir. Martin, with a touch of amusement, highlights Long Island's cooler climate compared to California, which he believes is ideal for flourishing Champagne grapes. His playful ambition? To make "New York and Long Island sparkle," a dream that Sparkling Pointe is demonstrably achieving. In fact, their 2000 Brut Seduction stunned the prestigious 2009 San Francisco Chronicle competition, earning "Best of Class" and "Sweepstakes" awards – a first for Long Island on the world stage of sparkling wines.
Sparkling Pointe exclusively produces wines using the Méthode Champenoise. The state-of-the-art facility boasts a gentle whole-cluster pressing bladder press, temperature-controlled fermentation tanks with a 30,000-gallon capacity, a high-speed bottling line processing 3,000 bottles per hour, a 2,000-bottle riddling machine, a fully automated disgorging line, and a well-equipped laboratory for daily wine analysis. A dedicated reserve room houses 1,700 gallons of base wines aged in French oak and stainless steel drums. The winery serves as the operational heart, offering visitors a captivating view of production stages, overlooking the tank room and cellars.

Sparkling Pointe's commitment to sustainability extends to their 40-acre estate nestled within the North Fork of Long Island AVA. Three distinct vineyards benefit from a maritime climate moderated by the Long Island Sound and Atlantic Ocean. This translates to long, warm summers cooled by refreshing breezes and balanced rainfall. The unique glacial soils, composed of well-draining sandy loam, provide an ideal foundation for viticulture. Each vineyard meticulously cultivates a selection of Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and Chardonnay clones, all meticulously cared for and hand-harvested by a dedicated crew overseen by North Fork viticulture veteran Steve Mudd.

Under the guidance of winemaker Gilles Martin, Sparkling Pointe crafts exceptional Champagne-style sparkling wines on Long Island's North Fork. Utilizing classic Champagne grapes, they produce elegant wines characterized by moderate alcohol content (around 12.5%), a distinctive autolytic character, and a creamy mousse of fine bubbles. Sparkling Pointe stands as a welcome addition to Long Island's diverse and impressive range of wines.
